What You’ll Do
Morningside Inn is family-owned event venue which hosts stress-free all-inclusive weddings, parties, meetings, and banquets.
The Executive Chef will be responsible for menu development, managing kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food preparation, and maintaining a safe and organized kitchen environment. This position requires a passion for creating memorable dining experiences, strong leadership skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a high-paced, event-focused environment.
Design and develop custom wedding and event menus, including appetizers, entrees, desserts, and special dietary requests
Oversee all kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation, ensuring consistency and high quality in every dish
Lead, mentor, and manage the kitchen team, including sous chefs, line cooks, and kitchen staff
Manage inventory, order supplies, and work with vendors to ensure the freshest ingredients
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized kitchen
Monitor food costs and work within event budgets while maximizing profitability
Collaborate with event planners and clients to create custom menus that align with the couple’s vision and theme
Maintain strong relationships with local farmers, purveyors, and suppliers to source high-quality ingredients
Direct food presentation and service at weddings, ensuring smooth transitions and high service standards
Conduct tastings for prospective couples and ensure client satisfaction through personalized and attentive service
Keep up-to-date with culinary trends and implement innovative dishes that align with the venue’s style and standards

Proven experience as an Executive Chef or Head Chef in a high-volume event or hospitality setting
Culinary degree or equivalent experience in a professional kitchen environment
Exceptional knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen equipment, and best practices
Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop kitchen staff
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, particularly under time constraints
Ability to create diverse, seasonal, and custom menus that cater to different tastes and dietary needs
Strong financial acumen and ability to manage food costs effectively
Commitment to food safety, cleanliness, and high-quality standards
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments, such as event planners and serving staff
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and event-based hours
